Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the blackberries and 1/2 cup of the sugar in a mixing bowl; set aside.
  3. Mix together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  5. Spoon the blackberry mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

For best results, use ripe blackberries and grease your baking dish well to prevent sticking.
