Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground meat substitute
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 4 slices Cheese (American or your choice)
- 4 Burger buns
- 2 tbsp Butter (for toasting buns)
- as needed Toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide ground meat substitute into balls (about 3-4 ounces each).
- Place a ball of meat on the skillet, flatten it with a spatula to create a thin patty, and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges are caramelized, then flip and add cheese on top.
- Toast the buns in butter until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers with the patties, toasted buns, and desired toppings.
- Serve hot.
