Description

An irresistible homemade burger that’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfect for gatherings or quick weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground meat substitute
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Cheese (American or your choice)
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 2 tbsp Butter (for toasting buns)
  • As needed Toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide ground meat substitute into balls (about 3-4 ounces each).
  3. Place a ball of meat on the skillet, flatten it with a spatula to create a thin patty, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges are caramelized, then flip and add cheese on top.
  5. Toast the buns in butter until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers with the patties, toasted buns, and desired toppings.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

Use a hot skillet for the best crust and don’t overwork the meat substitute to keep it tender.
