Description

Delightful blueberry scones with a buttery, flaky texture and bursts of juicy blueberries, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup Fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Mix well to distribute evenly.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Fold in fresh blueberries gently.
  5. Whisk together heavy cream, egg, and vanilla in a separate bowl.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, patting it into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  8. Cut into wedges and place on the baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, use cold ingredients and avoid overmixing the dough.
