Description

A classic dessert featuring layers of creamy pudding, ripe bananas, and vanilla wafers, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 1 box Vanilla wafers
  • 4 Ripe bananas


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add milk while stirring.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the mixture thickens.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then temper with a bit of the hot mixture. Add back to the saucepan and cook for another two minutes.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and butter until melted.
  5. In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding. Repeat layers, ending with pudding on top.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve in clear bowls for visual appeal and consider garnishing with whipped cream.
