Description

Delightful turnovers filled with juicy peaches, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed according to package directions)
  • 2 large fresh peaches (peeled, pitted, and diced, about 1 ½ cups)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter (melted)
  • 2-3 teaspoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Combine diced peaches, brown sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, cloves, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Roll out a sheet of puff pastry into an 11-inch square on a floured surface.
  4. Cut the pastry into four equal squares.
  5. Spoon one-eighth of the peach mixture onto one half of each square.
  6. Whisk the egg in a small bowl, and brush it over the edges of each pastry square.
  7. Fold the dough over and press down with a fork along the edges to seal.
  8. Brush the tops of the turnovers with the remaining egg wash.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Drizzle a mixture of powdered sugar, melted butter, and milk over the turnovers after cooling for at least 15 minutes.

Notes

Keep the pastry cold for best results and avoid overfilling to prevent spills.
