Description
Delightful turnovers filled with juicy peaches and wrapped in a flaky puff pastry, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets Puff pastry (thawed according to package directions)
- 2 large Fresh peaches (peeled, pitted, and diced, about 1 ½ cups)
- ¼ cup Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon Ground cloves
- Pinch Salt
- 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
- ½ cup Powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon Salted butter (melted)
- 2-3 teaspoons Milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine diced peaches, brown sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, cloves, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl.
- Roll out a sheet of puff pastry into an 11-inch square on a floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into four equal squares.
- Spoon one-eighth of the peach mixture onto one half of each square, leaving edges clear.
- Whisk the egg and brush it over the edges of each pastry square.
- Fold the dough over from corner to corner and press down with a fork to seal.
- Brush the tops with the remaining egg wash.
- Place on the lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, melted butter, and milk. Drizzle over turnovers after they cool for at least 15 minutes.
Notes
Keep puff pastry cold until ready to use for flakier texture. Adjust sweetness based on peach ripeness.
