Description

This homemade blackberry pie features a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors with juicy blackberries in a flaky, buttery crust.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Fresh blackberries (washed and patted dry)
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Heavy cream (for brushing)
  • 1 Double pie crust (top and bottom)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Lightly butter or spray your pie pan.
  2. Combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, and flour in a small bowl.
  3. Coat blackberries with lemon juice in a separate bowl and gently fold in the sugar blend.
  4. Pour the blackberry filling into the prepared bottom crust.
  5. Top with a lattice or full cover crust. Trim and pinch the edges.
  6. Brush with heavy cream and sprinkle sugar on top.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 375°F and bake for 50–60 minutes.
  8. Let cool for 2–3 hours before slicing.

Notes

For best results, choose fresh blackberries and allow the pie to cool completely before slicing for a beautiful presentation.
