Description
Deliciously tender BBQ chicken cooked in a crockpot, perfect for sandwiches, rice, or tacos.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 1/4 cup Barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup Italian dressing (fat-free recommended)
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup Light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Onion powder
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, and place in the crockpot.
- Mix the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Pour this sauce over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are coated.
- Cover and cook on high for 150-180 minutes or low for 300-360 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Shred the chicken in the crockpot to soak up the sauce if desired. Serve on buns or over rice, or use in salads or tacos.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, marinate the chicken in the barbecue sauce and Italian dressing overnight before cooking. Always taste the sauce before cooking and adjust seasoning as needed.
